                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Spring 2010

Welcome to another great year with Oakwood Lawn & Landscaping.  Spring is here again and warmer weather is moving in fast.  Our Landscape division is very busy during this time of year; & we ask that you please be patient.  We will be sure to take total care of your needs once we do address them.  Our Lawn Care division is also busy; and with this new season, brings new customers, who will have to be squeezed into the new schedule.

Please remember this is a good time to start new projects, continue old ones; or even scrap the old ones, and have something new designed.  We do have a designer on staff for anyone who may be interested in changing the look of their property, whether it be a little bit here & there; or a major refreshing of the entire yard.  We aim to help you see things in a more colorful view.

Aeration and fertilizers should be applied to enhance the growth and beauty of your lawn.  These cooler temperatures make it an opportune time to do some edging, weeding, and trimming, or cutting back those roses that will be in full bloom in no time.  It causes less stress on the plants, shrubs, or trees also.  Applying Treflan (a pre- emergent), fertilizer for trees and shrubs, topsoil, & mulch will help keep your beds looking great; as well as give nutrients to the plants, shrubs or trees you apply it to.  Mulch contains nutrients that can enhance the growth and colors of your landscaping.  We use Black Gold Mulch; but have access to any other type you may want to have, if you should have another preference.

Irrigation Systems should be opened up and tested.  This will help you be prepared for the heat and dryness that comes with the summer months.  Checking the heads, back flow, and system will only ensure they properly work so when the time comes to use them; they are ready to go.

If you have sod or new plants put in; please remember to water, water, water.  It is very important to have water on fresh sod or plantings so that it may be able to root properly.  These items are easily burned up by the sun if not taken care of; so be sure to water adequately.  If you are unsure how often or for how long; feel free to contact us, to answer any of your questions or concerns.

You can reach us through our website @ OakwoodLawn.com, by phone, or just drop us a fax.  We will look forward to hearing from you.  Thank you for your time and attention, and have a beautiful day!
